GoSS Council of Ministers has approved a budget of 90 million Sudanese pounds for the independence celebrations.
Earlier, the Celebration Committee chaired by Vice President Riek Machar, proposed a budget of 400 million Pounds for the mega party marking the beginning of self-determination.
GoSS spokesman Barnaba Marial Benjamin told journalists yesterday that the budget was agreed unanimously and it will cater for all celebrations requirements.
He said the Cabinet gave three million Pounds for the renovation of Juba Basketball Stadium that will host a mach between South Sudan and Uganda on Independence Day.
