The star of the first South Sudanese movie launched last week warned girls not to fall victims of sexual favours in exchange for employment or other promises.

Actress Joyce Maker, who played Jamila in the film with the same name, told SCR News that she was glad to be part of the movie that portrays the challenges girls and young women face in the community.

She said they want to work and support their families and some fall victims of sexual exploitation.

Lazarus Lual Bol, who plays Juma, the man who uses his position to exploit girls including Jamila, said he was proud to show what is going on behind doors in South Sudan.

He added sexual exploitation is real, but people do not see or do not talk about it.

Jamila is the first movie shot and produced in Juba. It was launched last weekend at Nyakuron Cultural Centre.
