The South Sudan Commission for Census, Statistics and Evaluation launched this morning in Juba the 2010 Statistical Yearbook.
The official launch was attended by Goss Vice President Riek Machar Teny, Bakhita Radio reported.Dr. Machar said the Yearbook would help the government and other decision makers to plan efficiently and effectively.
The vice president added that the Yearbook presents the social-economic situation in South Sudan, an important tool for the government and other agencies to perform better.
Census commission chairman Chol Aruai said the information contained in the Yearbook came from various sources including surveys, government ministries and other reliable agencies.
The 2010 Statistical Yearbook includes data on population and demography, households’ characteristics and basic services, education, health, agriculture, food security and forestry.
