Preparation for international Women’s Day kicked off today in Yei River County with a one-day conference organized by the local Women’s Association.
Sara Natalina, who leads the women in the county, told Easter Radio that the conference aimed at getting prepared and ready for the celebration of the international day in the county.Ms. Natalina said government officials, businesspeople, media houses and NGOs were called for the meeting to share ideas together and come up with the programme of activities for the celebration.
The Yei women’s leader added that issues like early marriages, violence against women and HIV Aids awareness were discussed in the conference.
The meeting was attended by 65 representatives from Yei River County.
