The Southern Sudan Referendum Commission is announcing the final results for the vote on self-determination this evening in Khartoum.
Commission spokesman George Benjamin told Voice of America that the final results of the southern Sudan referendum will be announced this evening in Khartoum at 7:30.He added that the announcement will be attended by many dignitaries including members of the governments of Khartoum and Juba, and representatives of the U.N., the African Union the Arab League.
Mr. Banjamin explained that the High Court gave the go-ahead to the commission to declare the final outcome of the referendum stating that there were no legal challenges to the final results.
