The fighting that erupted in Malakal Thursday evening between two sections of Joint Integrated Units forced the shut down of the catholic radio due to insecurity.
Voice of Love is near the JIU barracks in Malakal and the heavy exchange of fire did not allow radio personnel to report for work.Three journalists were kept in the radio station 24 hours without food and water until the fighting stopped and it was secure to leave the building.
Sr. Elena Ballati, the directress of Voice of Love, said the station resumes broadcasting today after she got permission from SAF officers.
