The Malakal Sudanese Red Crescent urged the government to find places to settle returnees coming from Northern Sudan.

Angelina Gwodo, a Red Crescent health official, said some returnees stay in open places for long time, Voice of Love reported.

She urged the government to find places to settle returnees to avoid diseases because a long stay of small children in the open air can easily cause illnesses.

Ms Gwodo said her organization focuses on health awareness and emergency cases for the returnees living in Malakal stadium.

She explained that malaria and diarrhoea are common diseases among returnees due to poor hygiene.

The health official appealed to returnees to keep utensils and their place clean to avoid diseases.

Returnees arrive in Malakal on a daily bases and live in the Stadium before they are settled. Some do not have families to be integrated with.
