A leading member of the Catholic Church in South Africa arrives in Juba on Saturday to monitor the referendum vote that starts on Sunday.

Archbishop Paolino Lukudu Loro of Juba told SCR News that Archbishop Wilfrid Cardinal Napier of Durban will head a three-member delegation to accompany the vote on self-determination for South Sudan.

Cardinal Napier’s visit signals the interest of the Church in South Africa in a peaceful referendum.
