A minister in the Eastern Equatoria government strongly refuted reports of insecurity in the state.

Minister for Information Nasike Allan was responding to last week’s report from the Referendum State High Committee saying the state was not secure, Emmanuel Radio reported.

Ms. Allan said the high turn up of registered voters in the state was due to the security prevailing in the region.

Ms. Allan reiterated that the organized forces made the state fully secure and ready for the vote.

The minister urged people to start moving to where they registered so as to vote in the referendum due to start in five days.

Ms. Allan added that the people of Eastern Equatoria would never lose the referendum opportunity to let the Southern Sudanese get their rights by voting successfully.
