The President of the Republic is expected in Juba tomorrow for what could be his last visit to South Sudan ahead of its independence.
GoSS President Salva Kiir Mayardit announced in his New Year’s Message that Omar Hassan al-Bashir would be his first guest for the New Year.Mr. Kiir urged Southern Sudanese of all walks of life and particularly the citizens of Juba to turn up in big numbers to give Mr. al-Bashir a thunderous welcome when he arrives in the morning of January 4.
GoSS President added in his message that President Bashir and the National Congress Party will be forever remembered for having endured the burden of presiding over the affairs of Sudan during the difficult moments of its history.
Mr. Kiir commend Mr. al-Bashir’s brave decision to sail the Comprehensive Peace Agreement through amidst all obstacles.
GoSS president repeated his appeal at St. Theresa’s Cathedral, in Kator, Juba, after the New Year’s Mass.
