YEI AUTHORITY WARNS WRONG DOERS OVER CHRISTMAS ABUSES

Yei River County commissioner presented today the security plans for the festive season and warned people planning wrong activities to be on guard.

David Lokonga told a group of journalists today at his office that those who plan to steal over Christmas and New Year celebrations or engage in smoking marijuana and heavy drinking should reform from such bad habits otherwise they could be arrested.

Mr. Lokonga said markets, banks and churches would be under special security during Christmas.

He urged drivers and cyclists to be very careful during the season feasts otherwise their vehicles will be confiscated.

Mr. Lokonga added that the security personnel will be patrolling all the areas in town using all means at their disposal to safeguard public order.

The commissioner urged residents to cooperate with the security forces and report suspect cases to the concerned organs.

Mr. Lokonga appealed to the churches to continue praying for a peaceful referendum and wished everybody a happy Christmas.
