Registered voters confirmed that the voter enrolment process for the upcoming referendum is being conducted free of charge.

Good News Radio conducted some interviews to encourage citizens that were refusing to register at the referendum centres for fear of being asked to pay for the services to come forward.

University of Rumbek student Abraham Lek Makueyi said the rumour is the work of saboteurs who are against the referendum.

Mr. Lek said nobody paid money in order to be registered and accusation that people are being charged money to register was baseless.

He urged people to stay determined in order to conduct the referendum.

Lakes State Minister for Social Development, Arkangelo Deng, called on all southerners both Christians and non Christians, to go and register, dismissing claims that people are being asked to pay for the registration.

Mr. Dend urged those who felt offended during the disarmament process to forgive the leaders and register to vote.

The registration exercise was extended to next Wednesday, December 8.
