GoSS vice president assured southerners they will get the services they yearned for over the last twenty years to better their lives.
Riak Machar Teny made this promise yesterday at the launch of the Southern Sudan Human Rights Forum in Juba.Dr. Machar said the national government made southerners poor through continuous suffering.
He lamented that the majority of people in Southern Sudan live below the poverty line with inadequate food, tattered shelters, unclean water and no social and economic rights.
Dr. Machar urged government institutions to promote and protect human rights in the region.
He affirmed his government’s commitment to ensure that the people of the south get what they deserve as citizens.
Basic fundamental human rights include education, health care and security for every citizen to benefit from.
