The Eighth Governors’ Forum kicked off this morning in Juba under the theme “Laying the foundation for a strong and peaceful post-referendum southern Sudan.”
Martinson Oturomoi, deputy chief of staff in the Office of the President, told the participants that the forum would provide a platform of dialogue between the states, government and development partners.Mr. Oturomoi added that the forum would facilitate the exchange of views on decentralization issues.
Mr. Oturomoi explained that the forum aimed at enabling the Southern Sudan governors to share reports on their states and discuss the preparation for the referendum.
The forum takes place in the Blue Room of Southern Sudan Legislative Assembly and is expected to end on Friday.
