The government of south Sudan donated one hundred million Sudanese Pounds for the conduct of the upcoming 2011 referendum on self-determination.
The pledge was announced by GoSS vice president, Riek Machar Teny, during the Eighth Governors’ Forum opening session today in Juba.Dr. Machar said GoSS spent many millions to train the police to be able to provide security during the referendum.
Dr. Machar presided over the forum opening ceremony on behalf of GoSS president Salva Kiir Mayrdit who is in Khartoum.
