Commissioners of Lakes State concluded today a three-day forum aimed at sharing experiences in view of designing a common plan of action.
The forum brought together commissioners of the eight Counties in the State, their executive directors, paramount chiefs, and senior government officials, including ministers, who participate as observers.Lakes State Minister of Local Government Mabor Meen Wol told Good News Radio that commissioners and the executive directors presented their programs, shared challenges they faced while carrying out their duties and efforts made towards overcoming the challenges to come up with a plan of action.
Mr. Mabor said that the participants also discussed the Local Government Act 2009 by which Commissioners, Executive Directors and other Government officials operate.
The Minister underlined the relevance of the discussion on the Referendum Act to the forum, saying that it helps the local leaders to have a legal understanding of the referendum in order to carry out their activities within the law.
Mr. Mabor revealed that tomorrow starts a three-day forum for the council of traditional authorities bringing together all chiefs.
