Leaders of Sudanese Churches want to discuss with the Government of Southern Sudan ways of reconciling Southerners and bring peace in the region.
The discussions are called Kejiko 2, after the first dialogue between the Sudan People Liberation Moment (SPLM) and Sudan Council of Churches (SCC) that took place in Kejiko village, Yei, during the struggle.SCC Secretary General, Rev. Ramadan Chan, told SCR News that the Churches wanted a forum that would enable them to discuss with the government ways to bring peace in Sudan.
Rev. Chan said that peaceful and reconciled southerners are key to bring about a successful referendum
He called upon the government to work with the Church to unite the people of southern Sudan since they have different capacities.
Rev Chan was talking to SCR News after a SCC prayer session interceding for peace among the people of Sudan.
