Nuba called to hope for present

Voice of Peace Radio (Gidel, December 6, 2024)  Nuba people are called to hope in the present other than thinking of the future they do not know about.

Father Zachariah Osman, said that for around 40 years the Nuba people have been in war and is still ongoing even today.

Fr. Osman said that to live thinking of the unknown future makes our lives difficult.

He added that worries will bring to us troubles and sickness in our lives.

He cited an example from the gospel about the end times saying today’s war while tomorrow may be peace and that through our faith good times will come to appear one day.

The Nuba Mountains, is rich in agriculture and natural resources but it is the poorest in the world because the conflicts in Sudan have always focused on the region for control of those resources.

Father Osman who is a counselor at Mother of Mercy Hospital in Gidel, Nuba Mountains made the remark during the Mass at Saints Peter and Paul parish last Sunday.
