Faithful Encouraged to Be Exemplary Disciples

During Sunday Mass at Saints Peter and Paul Parish, Father Zachariah Osman invited the faithful to emulate the example of discipleship, drawing inspiration from biblical figures and modern-day leaders.

He emphasized that everyone is called to serve in different ways, contributing to the betterment of society.

Citing various roles, Father Zachariah highlighted that students, for example, fight against ignorance and contribute significantly to the community.

He stressed that marriage, parenthood, and other responsibilities are vital duties entrusted to us to help liberate others.

He reminded the congregation that no one is without a mission, and that all professions—whether teaching, medicine, or community service—serve to improve society.

This call to action was highlighted during the institution of the Young Christian Servants (YCS) from Saint Joseph Senior Secondary School in the Nuba Mountains pastoral region.

Six Baptized in Tajura Chapel

Sunday 11th May 2025       Voice of Peace FM  Heiban County, Nuba Mountains at least six young men were baptized over the weekend at the Chapel of Tajura in Heiban County, Nuba Mountains region. Fr. James William, the parish priest of Saints Peter and Pau l Parish, led the ceremony and reminded the faithful that the church is a place where believers can come before God with their burdens. Addressing the significance of Catholic sacraments, Fr. William emphasized that children should begin with baptism, which is the gateway to the other sacraments as they grow in faith. Fr. William also addressed growing reluctance among youth in the region to fully commit to Church teachings particularly regarding marriage. He highlighted concerns about the rise in infidelity and the cultural practice of wife inheritance, which have made many young men hesitant to solemnize their marriages in church until they are older—often in their 70s.
