South Sudan registers over 190 refugees in Yambio in the last two weeks

The UN refugee agency in South Sudan says 198 refugees were registered in Yambio Western Equatoria State over the last two weeks. 

UNCHCR representative Adan D Ilmi states all the new arrivals are quarantined by the state authority in regards to WHO guidelines and the ministry of health.

He adds among the arrivals are South Sudanese returnees, they are not supported by UNHCR because it’s continues return.

The official stresses the agency and government have not started facilitating return South Sudanese from the neighbouring countries.

He calls on South Sudanese to help those who are returning back home so that they can survive.

The UNHCR representative made the remarks on Tuesday in Juba.
