Police of Yambio urges locals to respect laws to prevent coronavirus spread

The commissioner of police in Yambio Western Equatoria is calling upon citizens to respect the laws to prevent spread of coronavirus in the state.

This came after South Sudan announced more cases of coronavirus bringing the total number of the confirmed cases to 35, Anisa Radio reports.

According to the directives from the high level taskforce on COVID-19 read by the first vice president DR. Riek Machar, Boda-bodas are allowed to carry cargos only.

The directives also ordered closure of Shisha and tea selling places, while restaurants should operate on takeaway services only.

Western Equatoria Police commissioner James Mande revealed that buses that operate from Yambio to Nzara will be allowed to carry seven passengers only.

He asked citizens to follow the orders for the sake of the whole country.

The police commissioner warned that anyone who violates the orders will face the law.

The Commissioner appeals to local population to work together with the security forces to eliminate crimes in the state.

Recently people complained about the presence of the Ambororo among other gangs in some parts of Western Equatoria.

Unknown gunmen on Tuesday ambushed a man at his home at Ikpiro and the robbers stole 250,000 SSP.
