The Catholic parishes of Nzara and Yabua united to celebrate the Way of the Cross on Good Friday from Yabua Junction up to Nzara Hospital.

Yabua Parish Priest Ignatius Mborihenga told Anisa Radio that over 5,000 people from the two sister parishes gathered to follow Christ in his sufferings and pray for all the problems affecting their lives.

Fr Mborihenga said besides mourning the sufferings of Christ, they prayed for development, for all sick people especially those with HIV AIDS, for the State government, the arrow boys and the AU forces who fought out the Lord’s Resistance Army from Western Equatoria State.

He added that the four-hour procession was peaceful.

Fr Mborihenga said that at the beginning of the procession in Yabua a young man was tied on a cross to recall the crucified Jesus.

He advised all faithful to be patient, forgive and keep harmony towards one another.
