TONJ FEMALE COOKS COMPLAIN ABOUT LOCAL FOOD BIAS

Female cooks at market and small restaurants in Tonj, Warrap State, are decrying locals for choosing food prepared by foreign competitors.

Elizabeth Agok Cinjang told Don Bosco Radio that the customers prefer to eat food from Ugandan and Darfuri cooks.

She said the food cooked by the local women was cheaper.

Ms Cinjang urged customers to buy food from local women to allow them to support their families.

A Ugandan national said business fluctuated in a daily basis in Tonj.

He added that he did not see any bias against local food.

He explained that foreigners selling food at the market had the necessary permissions and documents from the government.

He added that they were legal and there was no ground for complaints against forei nationals trying to make a living.
