A delegation from Ethiopia and officials of the Catholic diocese of Torit shared experiences on service delivery under Caritas, the Catholic Church charity arm.
Executive Director of Hararge Catholic Secretariat, Bekele Moges, told Radio Emmanuel that Caritas Ethiopia shared its experience of over 30 years of operation with the Catholic Diocese of Torit.Mr Bekele, who leads the team of three officials from Caritas Ethiopia, stresses that the Catholic Diocese of Torit had almost similar structures.
He added that Caritas Ethiopia passed through a number of challenges and they shared the steps taken to find solutions.
The deputy Executive and Program Director for Executive Director of Hararge Catholic Secretariat, Belaynchi Belete, said the Catholic Diocese of Torit faced many challenges ahead following the two decades war.
He asserted that the economic damage and destruction of infrastructure by the war left people longing for services.
Mr Belete encouraged the Catholic Diocese of Torit to work hard and strengthen itself to provide services to improve the livelihood of the people.
The two-day experience sharing between the delegation of Caritas Ethiopia and the Catholic Diocese of Torit was organized to prepare the launch of Caritas Torit on Thursday.
