A motorcycle rider on Thursday morning knocked down a seven-year old girl in Yei.
Eyewitnesses James Okongo told Radio Easter that the boda-boda was travelling very fast and hit the girl on her chest.He added that the rider tried to stop the motorbike but was unable.
Mr Okongo said the girl was crossing the road carrying some jarricans to a borehole.
Traffic section investigator Rudu Kenyi Jackson said the rider was guilty because he was going too fast.
He said both rider and motorcycle were under police custody until doctors reported on the victim’s health situation.
Mr Kenyi urged drivers and riders to slow down to avoid accidents.
