Eastern Equatoria Assembly on Wednesday rejected a report on the Policy Statement from the Information and Telecommunication ministry.

Drama ensued immediately after the committee chairperson Joseph Lokodo presented a report that should include findings and recommendations, Radio Emanuel reported.

MP Charles Odwar rejected the report as irrelevant and unrelated to the policy framework presented to the Assembly by the minister of Information and Telecommunication seven days ago.

He suggested that the committee should be enlarged to study the policy framework statement from the Information and Telecommunication ministry.

Alphonse Muras Chacha termed the report as contradicting, lacking observations and recommendations.

He recalled that the House raised a question concerning Postal Services in Eastern Equatoria but it was not reflected on the report.

All MPs that spoke at the session rejected the report.

In the end MP Maira Severino moved a motion supported by MP Agnes Lox to refer the report back to the committee.

Deputy Speaker Paul Napwon Ð who presided over the sitting Ð gave seven days to the committee to improve the report and bring it back for discussion.

He added that more members had to be included in the select committee of information and Telecommunication to work better.
