Over 16 thousand people have already arrived in Lainya County for the 2013 Convention of the Episcopal Church of the Sudan or ECS.

County pressman Bullen Lagala told Radio Easter over the phone call that the ECS Evangelical Revival Convention was a historic event.

He said the event opened officially on Thursday and ends on Monday.

Mr Bullen revealed that the convention drew people from Africa and from the world.

He said the first convention took place in 1983 in Juba, in 1986 in Kajo Keji, in 2006 in Yei, in 2010 in Mundri and in 2013 in Lainya.

He revealed that a number of bishops, including Archbishop Daniel Deng Bul, were present.

Reverend Joseph Lemi Ali said the Lainya Convention is the biggest of all.

He said the number of participants keeps increasing.

Rev Lemi pointed out that the Convention is supported by the national and state governments and with local contributions from those who take part.
