Northern Bahr el Ghazal state is to host Greater Bahr el Ghazal Women Conference on the women’s right.
The conference is scheduled to February 10 to 13.State MP Abuk Jiel Dhieu is the chairperson of the organizing committee. He told Bakhita Radio that the conference should create a good relationship in politics and states interactions.
She added that the conference will also focus on how to solve problems that hinder security and peaceful co-existence in Lakes state.
Ms Jiel argued that women are neglected in national government positions like undersecretaries, directors general and other directorates in all government institutions.
State Information Minister Nyibol Benjamin Ajonga said Northern Bahr El Ghazal is chosen to host the conference because the state is secure with minimal inter-communal conflicts.
The conference, supported by USAID, should draw at least 500 women from Greater Bahr El Ghazal.
