The Nuba Mountains Human Rights Team Leader in Heiban County is concerned over the worsening humanitarian situation in the area.
Rashid Adam Anur said the war was affecting the running of the schools: there was no stationery materials, the classrooms were in poor condition and the Antonovs flying the skies of Nuba Mountains are scaring pupils.Mr Adam stressed that hunger is common in Nuba Mountains and people are going by car or on foot to Yida, in Unity State, trying to get food and security.
He said the journey is arduous and many people die on the way.
Mr Adam explained that the ongoing war in Nuba Mountains prevented people from cultivating their fields in the last one and half years.
Human Rights Team in Nuba Mountains is closely monitoring the humanitarian situation in the region.
