The Catholic bishop of Yei welcomed the superior general of the missionary Society of the Divine Word or SVD and one of his councillors visiting the diocese.
Bishop Erkulano Lodu Tombe told the two leaders that the diocese was delighted with their visit, Radio Easter reported.He thanked them for the gift of two new SVD priests for the diocese of Yei.
Superior General Kuluke Heinz said God had done marvels to bring the SVD to South Sudan, a country which suffers from many problems.
He explained that the aim of the SVD missionaries was to bring the light of the Word of God to encourage and reconcile people in order to build a better future.
Fr Heinz said the future of South Sudan depended on peace and justice leading to development.
He said the SVD missionaries wanted to share the Word of Jesus with the people of South Sudan, especially with the parish of Lainya.
Fr Heinz urged the people not to lose faith because God loved every person and cared for all.
