The bimonthly newspaper The New Nation dismissed three officials following the discovery earlier in December that over 51,000 US dollars vanished into thin air.
A source told CRN on Monday that The New Nation administrator together with the manager of Koroko Guest House and the head chef were sacked in mid December.The three were foreign nationals from Belgium and Uganda.
The source explained that 40,000 dollars were generated by the guest house and the 11,000 were proceeds made from ads.
The incident delayed the publication of the newspaper between January 5 and January 14.
The newspaper launched an internal audit and the former administrator should appear before the board of directors after the investigation finished.
CRN contacted the newspaper editor, Kenneth Oluka, who declined to comment saying that the right person to talk about the case was the newspaper coordinator who was out of the country.
