Western Bahr El Ghazal state medical commission ran out of forms to issue age assessment and birth certificates.
Edmond Sebit Ramadan, the acting Director of the Commission in Wau Teaching Hospital, told Voice of Hope that income from his organism was deposited into the state coffers and it took too long to process the authorization to order new certificates.He explained that the commission ran out of forms and certificates about one and half months.
Dr Sebit said most citizens needed Age Assessment Certificates for judiciary procedures, land acquisition and to obtain other relevant documents.
He said they are issuing “To Whom It May Concern” documents instead of birth certificates.
Dr Sebit explained that was not the solution, but it was the temporarily way out to help needy citizens.
He added that the Commission was still waiting to received forms and certificates.
The lack of forms may hinder the issuance of nationality certificates and passports, which will start at state level in the coming weeks, as the process requires birth or age assessment certificates.
