Nuba Mountains rebels said they were ready to take Kaduglil, the capital of South Kordofan, after defeating government troops in the latest clashes in the area.
Heiban County SPLM-N Political Chairman Younnan Albarout Ajour said Government troops tried to take positions controlled by the rebels outside Kadugli but were chased back.He said 70 Government troops were killed and more than 70 wounded when they tried to take Daldoko town from the SPLA-N.
Mr Albarout added that the SPLM-N is certain of taking the South Kordofan capital.
The SPLM-N political leader called upon the Sudanese civilians to unite and work hand in hand with the rebels in the frontline to overthrow the Government.
Mr Albarout remarked that the SPLA-N was determined to pursue victory.
