Women leaders are advising girls not to drop out of school, but persist with their education despite the many challenges they face in South Sudan.
The Director for Child Welfare in the Ministry of Gender, Child and Social Welfare, Celina Peter, encouraged girls to continue with their studies to achieve higher education and bring development and prosperity to the nation.She said education is achieved through difficulties and lessons learned from difficulties make a person strong.
South Sudan School Feeding Programme officer in the UN World Food Programme, Kiganzi Nyakato told girls they are valuable and their voice is important in society.
She told girls to learn how to put across their messages through schooling.
The two women leaders delivered their messages on the eve of the first ever International Girl Child Day to be celebrated Thursday.
