The world football governing body has set aside one million US Dollars for South Sudan Football Association to build in Juba its headquarters plus a technical centre.
FIFA, the Federation of International Football Association, sent a delegation to Juba to discuss with the national association the details of the project, Bakhita Radio reported.
The team met Central Equatoria Governor Clement Wani Konga in his house on Wednesday morning to request a piece of land for the construction.
FIFA senior Development Officer for Africa, Francesco Bruscoli, told reporters that the association is supporting the youngest federation for it to grow.
He asked South Sudan Football Association to unite in order to reach its objectives.
The call comes amidst voices demanding the resignation of the Football Association’s current chairperson.
Mr Bruscoli revealed that one million Dollars should be enough to build the headquarters and the technical centre to train coaches and referees.
The money comes from a special FIFA fund.
Governor Konga okayed FIFA’s request but asked for patience.
FIFA said after the landed was allocated it would take a few months to complete the headquarters and the technical centre.
