Some drivers reacted positive about the introduction of a five-Pound fee for using the Juba International Airport car park while other users were unhappy for paying for a facility yet to be constructed.

The army, security personnel, Red Cross, UN and diplomats are exempted from the parking fees.

Air Salvation General Manager John Illario told CRN that is was okay to charge cars using the airport’s park.

He said he hoped the company responsible for the collection would use the money to develop the airport’s parking area.

Mr Illario said everybody should pay.

He alerted for those who claim to be exempt and dodge the payment.

Mr Illario asked the airport and the transport ministry authorities to monitor the situation.

A woman driver declined to give a view but hurled abusive words at the reporter apparently angered by the stewards collecting money at the car park gate.
