The commissioner of Yei River County in Central Equatoria State called on the management of Yei Civil Hospital to draft its top priorities in order to address challenges the health facility is facing.

Juma David Augustine told medical staff on Saturday that the hospital needed urgent attention in order to save the lives of patients.

He urged health officials to educate the public on health issues through the mass media in order to reduce dead rates in the county.

Medical Director Samuel Kennedy explained that inadequate drugs, accommodation, malnutrition and child spacing were major challenges affecting the health of the community.

The commissioner made the call during a one-day inspection visit to medical, surgical, children and sleeping sickness wards at the hospital.
