The National Legislative Assembly debate today has failed to pass the list of 9-member of National Election Commission and has adjourned the debate for tomorrow again.
MPs from Eastern Equatoria came to deadlock with the assembly and threatening to walk out from the debate because their state is not represented in the National Election Commission.MP Toli Odongi Ayapu from Lofan County, Eastern Equatoria described lack of state representation at the National Election Commission as marginalization.
He said there is need for justice and equality for all and that those who preparedÊ the list have overlooked the people of Eastern Equatoria.
Mr Odongi warned that MPs from Eastern Equatoria caucus would walk out from the discussion.
MP Alieu Yieng Alieu Tonj North, Warrap state said that the appointment is based on three regional categorization, Greater Bahr El Ghazal, Greater Upper Nile and Greater Equatoria.
He said President Salva Kiir has distributed according to these regions and each took three positions.
He clarified that when look from state perspective, four states including Eastern Equatoria are left out.
The Some MPs said the state has been represented in the Commission by Julia Akur who is married to an Eastern Equatorian but Eastern Equatoria caucus rejected that she isÊ from the state.
