Yei River Commissioner said the county is facing land disputes between the communities and institutions.

David Juma Augustine explained that ECS, the Episcopal Church of Sudan, is one of the institutions with land disputes with the community, Radio Easter reported.

He said people want to take back the land the ECS was given to the Reconcile Peace Institute.

The Commissioner called on the communities to give land to churches and other partners for the transformation and development of the county.

Mr Juma said the authorities have the duty and the responsibility to protect such investments from partners that render services to the population.

He appealed to the communities to collaborate and allow the Church to use the land saying the institution is not only the bishop but all the Christians and by denying land to the Church they deny it to themselves.

Commissioner Juma was speaking during the fourth graduation ceremony in Reconcile Peace Institute on Monday afternoon.
