The President of the Republic has urged the police and other organised forces to refrain from criminal activities and protect citizens and goods.
Salva Kiir Mayardit accused some police officers of becoming public enemies through criminal attitudes.He warned the police against encouraging theft and asked the army to stay out of criminal activities.
President Kiir said the movement soldiers and organized forces with guns in civilian areas poses a security threat.
He accused foreign criminals of being active in South Sudan taking advantage of national weak institutions and ineffective laws.
President Kiir cautioned the South Sudanese police and army against joining foreign criminals.
He appealed to the army and the organized forces to leave malpractices and concentrate on security work.
President Kiir was addressing the crowd at Dr John Garang’s Tomb in Juba celebrating Martyrs Day on Monday.
