Rumbek Center County Commissioner has said that investigation of shooting that resulted to the dead of a 21-year-old pupil in Malualkodi is underway.
Abraham Meen Kuch, said that the Criminal Investigation Department is dealing with the case and that the suspect will soon be brought to justice. Radio Good News reported.Meen urged Rumbek County residents to be patient because security matters require adequate time to investigate and resolve.
He said that the Government will intensify police patrols in the County.
Meen added that the government plans for a major crack down on criminal elements.
Meen noted that police officers are doing their best to maintain law and order in the County.
He revealed that the Government is planning to increase the number of police officers on patrol from 150 to about 400.
The Commissioner confirmed that security is stable in Rumbek Center County with only few isolated cases.
He cited one case where a pupil of Matangai Primary School was reportedly murdered by an unidentified gunman on Monday.
Lakes State Authorities have been trying to battle insecurity in some parts of Cueibet and Rumbek North Counties.
