Necia Stanford told CRN that Gender Equity through Education (GEE) programme is the only project of Winrock that will end in August 2012.
Ms Stanford said the goal of this program was to reduce barriers to girls’ education at the secondary school level and to encourage women to enter the teaching profession.
Winrock programme includes activities such as stipends to support girls and some marginalized boys in secondary schools, women at teacher training institutes.
The programme also include provision of money for school uniforms, supplies and hygiene items to reduce financial costs to educate girls and support of gender advocacy activities at all levels.
