A teargas has exploded at St. Daniel Comboni Primary School’s neighborhood spilling into the school compound and interrupted classes for nearly two hours in Rumbek on Thursday morning.
The School’s Head Teacher Ater William said that the teargas filled the air in the school compound, forcing pupils and teachers to run for safety, Radio Good News reported.He said that the teargas affected the entire school’s programme in morning.
Ater William explained that the teargas exploded when a child in one of the police houses near the school tried to open the container.
The head teacher said that he alerted the police about the incident.
The Acting Police Commissioner in Lakes State could not be reached for a comment.
