14 Members of Eastern Equatoria state Legislative Assembly will be denied their allowances for failing to attend sittings this month.

Deputy Speaker Paul Napwon announced to the state parliament today, Emmanuel Radio reported.

He said some fourteen Law makers asked permission but have overstayed the days approved to them by the speaker.

Mr Napwon said other MPs deemed to lose allowances over absenteeism beacuse they have deliberately failed to appear in the parliament without reason.

The deputy speaker added that the MPs will get their monthly benefits without sitting allowances.

Speaker Ambrose Emmanuel Ocholimoi warned legislators of losing their seat due to persisted absenteeism.

Ocholimoi warned the lawmakers during the opening of the second session in April saying absenteeism retards progress of the Assembly as sessions are always adjourned over lack of quorum
