Wau County constituencies are taking steps to invest funds received from Juba in different development projects.
Ahmed Mohamed Musa, who represents Wau-North constituency at the National Legislative Assembly, said the authorities sat down with residents and listened to their needs before deciding how to spend the money.He explained that Wau County constituencies received about 600,000 pounds from the National Assembly to support local development.
He noted that the citizens of both Wau-North and South constituencies wanted the money to finance water and security projects.
Mr Musa was elected to supervise the development projects in both constituencies.
He said the authorities have invited contractors who want to build the projects to present their tenders.
Mr Musa added that applicant companies will be checked if they have capacity to carry out the projects.
Arkangelo Augustino Futu, who chairs the Constituency Development Committee, said they have so far received seven applications.
