JUBA COUNTY READY TO PREVENT WATERBORNE DISEASES OUTBREAK

Juba County Health Department is ready to prevent outbreaks of waterborne diseases during the current rainy season.

Medical Officer Alfred Abdallah Mattia told CRN that the country health authorities are collecting data every week to be aware of the health issues in the 16 payams of Juba County.

He said cholera, diarrhoea, dysentery, malaria and typhus are diseases proper of the rainy season.

Dr Abdallah advised people to drink clean water and wash everything they bought in market before cooking.

He added that all row vegetables need to be well washed before they are eaten.

Every rainy season brings some waterborne diseases all over the country and Juba is at a greater risk due to piles of fettering rubbish especially around the market areas.
