South Sudan’s forces have expelled Sudanese troops from the border rich areas of Raja County in Western Bahr El Ghazal.

Governor Rizik Zachariah Hassan told the crowed at the State Secretariat in Wau that on Tuesday the SPLA took control of Kafiakinji and Kafndipi from SAF, the Sudan Armed Forces, after three days of fighting, Voice of Hope reported.

The governor hailed the contributions made by various groups in the state for the success of the army in the frontline.

Mr Zachariah called on the state population not to worry much about the closure of the borders because Sudan has no other country to export its commodities.

The Governor made these statements after arriving from Raja County where he went two weeks ago to show his solidarity to the troops in the frontline.

Wau citizens welcomed him five kilometres away from the town waving tree branches.
