Yirol East County Commissioner said three suspects arrested by county authorities in connection with a clash that took place last weekend between Rumbek East and Yirol East residents will be transferred to Rumbek for trial.

Bullen Bol Acinbai told Good News Radio that Yirol East County does not have qualified lawyers to try the suspects.

He noted that the case involving two counties is serious and should be handled at State level.

Mr Bol clarified that the incident involved a section of a community in Yirol East County to revenge an alleged killing of a clan member.

The County Commissioner urged Rumbek East and Yirol East residents to be calm.

He warned the youths from the two counties against taking the law into their hands.

Mr Bol assured residents of Rumbek East and Yirol East of their security, because law enforcement agencies were dealing with the issue and the rule of law should be allowed to take its course.

Tension has been rising between communities in Yirol East and Rumbek East counties in the past week following a revenge attack that left at least three people dead.
