Oxfam GB Deputy Country Director, Johnson Byamukama told CRN News that agencies, including Oxfam, had tried to assist the refugees with the basic services but it has become difficult in the last few months to provide enough water to all the 37,000 refugees in the camp.
He explained that a hydro-geological survey has revealed lack water in Jamam to serve the 37,000 refugees, and that 23,000 refugees need urgent relocation to an area where there is enough potal water and enough security.
Mr Byamukama urged that the relocation should be implemented immediately, before the rainy season starts, and should be completed in two weeks.
He however admitted that Oxfam is still searching for a suitable site to relocate the 23,000 Sudanese refugees.
