The Archbishop of Catholic Archdiocese of Juba has called on Christians to maintain ownership and responsibility of their land and faith.
Addressing the faithful at Saint Theresa’s Cathedral Kator on April 29 2012, Archbishop Paolino Lukudu Loro said the society and the government have responsibility and mandate towards the life and welfare of the citizens.

He said that rampant land grabbing in the country is due to lack of responsibility, ownership and duty to society and land.

Archbishop Lukudu stressed that South Sudanese must have duty, responsibility and ownership of the border areas that belong to the Republic of South Sudan, and called on the faithful to take care of their Christian life and take it as a mandate and responsibility just as Jesus did for them.

Archbishop Lukudu was speaking yesterday at the Golden Jubilee of Saint Theresa’s Cathedral in Juba, where two deacons were also ordained priests. The√É≈† cathedral endured bombardments and bullets during the civil war, providing shelter to about 3,000 people.
